TO THE PARENTS

This section now is in regard to transporting students safely to and from St. John's Jesuit using our school transportation. We are very concerned about "bus chasing" which is an unsafe act that has occurred in the past. It is important that all families using St. John's Jesuit busses recognize the definitions and dangers associated with this act.

Bus Chasing includes one or more of the following:

  • Following the route of the bus with intent of dropping your son at a future stop.
  • Pulling up behind the bus when it is stopped and allowing your son to approach the bus.
  • Driving around and/or cutting of a stopped bus.

Your son has one designated bus stop. The Ohio Pupil Transportation Manual requires that your son board and un-board only at their assigned stops.

Your son's safety is our primary concern. There are documented cases throughout Ohio of students being severely injured, even killed as a result of bus chasing. If your son's bus has already passed his designated stop, please proceed directly to St. John's Jesuit High School. In the event that bus chasing does occur, ridership will be suspended.

These safety precautions are in place to prevent an injury accident from occurring.

* Designated Place of Safety -determined when bus stop request submitted.

** Payment is payable to St. John's Jesuit.
