Mission Statement

St. John’s Jesuit develops Christian leaders. As a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition, we inspire each student to achieve his greatest potential in a diverse, Christ-centered atmosphere distinguished by academic success and service as a man for others.
Cura personalis
Cura Personalis is a Latin phrase meaning "care for the person." It is a hallmark of Ignatian spirituality and central to the Jesuit educational philosophy. It stems from respect for the dignity of human beings as unique creations of God and for "God's embracing of humanity in the person of Jesus." Jesuits seek to lead and to manage more through love than through fear, working with passion and courage whether teaching teenagers or confronting the powerful who abuse the poor. In the classroom, cura personalis inspires teachers to listen to students, to build relationships with them, and to guide them in taking responsibility for their learning.
