Dan Butler TV-4 Endowment 

We lost a great friend in August 2010 with the passing of Dan Butler ’84. He touched the lives of many during our years at St. John’s Jesuit and after.

During his time at SJJ, Dan's vision and humor revolutionized TV-4 and today it is a staple of the St. John’s student life. He was also Student Council President during his senior year.

In looking for a way to honor his legacy, we quickly focused on something connected to his groundbreaking work at TV-4.

We are launching our effort to create the Dan Butler ’84 TV-4 Endowment as a lasting memorial to him. Our goal is to establish this fund to support TV-4 and provide opportunities for current and future students to develop their talents as Dan did during his time at SJJ.

We plan to raise $50,000 over the next five years to create this endowment. This endowment will help keep TV-4 on the cutting edge and continue its role as a place for students to develop their talents. A plaque has been placed in the current TV-4 studios to recognize Dan’s impact at SJJ. It reads: "In memory of Dan Butler '84. His creativity and humor transformed TV-4 and the lives of his classmates and friends. In recognition, his classmates, family, and friends have created the Dan Butler '84 TV-4 Endowment to help future generations of St. John's Jesuit students carry on his spirit."

Please consider helping us honor Dan’s memory with this permanent memorial to him. The gift form includes space for you to share your stories and memories of Dan. You can also make a gift by credit card. Thank you for helping celebrate Dan’s life, and the impact he had on all of us.

Dan was always about the “moment,” so let’s support this moment and make an impact to the future of St. John's Jesuit in his memory.

If every member of the Class of 1984 gave $286, we will reach our goal. Several members have stepped up and provided a generous start to this endowment. Please consider making an annual pledge of $100 or $200 towards the creation of this permanent memorial.
