Students are reminded to consult the recent email from Mr. Root regarding this Friday's Field Day activities and how to sign up for them. Activities include tournaments for basketball, soccer, euchre, and Clash Royale, among others. The day will end with battleball in the Main Gym.

SJJ's annual "Diplomacy" game will be held on Field Day, starting at 8:45am in the double study hall, Rooms 104 and 108. There will be an experienced game for returning players and a simultaneous rookie game where the rules are explained and no experience is necessary. Diplomacy is a game of high strategy where you use your personality, charisma, wits, and a little deception to defeat other WWI nations. Contact Mr. Carnicom for more information.

Congratulations to the SJJ Mock Trial team, which competed at the Downtown Toledo Municipal Courthouse on Friday. The team received high praises from the panel of attorneys and judges for their hard work, conduct, and performances. On Saturday, members of the SJJ chorus and band participated in a competition at Lake High School. Receiving ratings of "Superior" were Cameron Augustiniak, Sam Wagner, Robert Cornwell, and the SJJ Vocal Ensemble. Receiving ratings of "Excellent" were Connor Long and Matt Brangham. The SJJ swimming and diving team fell short to Fremont Ross last night. Noteworthy performers for the Titans included Rob DiSalle who took 1st in the 50 free, Spencer Rogers who took 1st in the 100 fly and the 500 free, Patrick Gorman and Stephen Wainz who took 1st and 2nd in the 100 free respectively, and Jackson Stout who took 1st in the one-meter dive. Congratulations to the SJJ wrestling team which brought home the Toledo Catholic Cup last night. The Titans ended a six year drought against Central Catholic by defeating them 61-14, and continued its dominance over “That School on Bancroft,” 69-11. Thanks to all the students who showed up to support the team. The Titans grapplers will compete in the Catholic Invitational Tournament in Cincinnati this weekend.

Senior Jake Barnes led the Titans with a 3rd place individual finish, followed by seniors Ben Clark and Kyle Rudolph in 6th and 13th places, respectively. Senior Dominic Bier was victorious in the open race. SJJ will race again this Saturday at the Midwest Meet of Champions in Hilliard, Ohio.

The Leadership and Alumni Mentoring Program, also known as "LAMP," will continue this school year. Informational sessions will be held during the last 10 minutes of each Lunch period today and tomorrow in the McQuade Theater. Interested juniors should report today, and seniors should report tomorrow. See Mrs. Lipinski or Mr. Vargas, the new Alumni Director, with any questions.

Campion Hall Players of St. John's Jesuit proudly announces auditions for this year's Fall play, "J.B.", a drama based on the Biblical Book of Job, to be presented November 6th-8th. There are many roles available and you may audition on either August 31st or September 1st from 3:30pm-5:30pm in the McQuade Theater. The rehearsal schedule is light so students will be able to keep up their grades while participating in this great activity. Campion Hall welcomes anyone who wants to have fun learning about and participating in theater, including freshmen and sophomores. Be aware, no experience is necessary.

The group will discuss the revamped program and offer the opportunity for sophomores to sign up. Interested sophomores should report today, juniors tomorrow, and seniors on Thursday. Attention sophomores, juniors, and seniors: Your Retreat dates were emailed to you on Monday and Tuesday. Check that message to confirm your date. If you are unable to make that date or if you did not receive a notice, contact Fr. Doyle or Mr. Kelly in Campus Ministry as soon as possible. Spaces are limited so act quickly. Be aware, seniors who attended Kairos as juniors are the only exceptions.
