Gurian Model School
In order to foster the harmonious development of their own individual gifts, we demonstrate a personal concern for every student at St. John's Jesuit Academy.
St. John’s Jesuit was named a Gurian Institute Model School in July 2013. All faculty and staff have attended Gurian training, and two faculty members within the building -- Mr. Philip Levering and Mrs. Keri Struckholz -- are certified Gurian trainers. Gurian classroom strategies are one of the many tools we use to ensure this development. These practices are proven to increase students’ engagement, increase teacher effectiveness, provide best practices for literacy and STEM, increase social-emotional skills among boys and reduce bullying.
See the video below to learn more about the Gurian Institute and hear from Mr. Levering on our commitment to helping our students to reach their full potential.
